If you're trying to locate a specific debt collection case in FinView, there are several strategies that you can use. The three main methods involve searching via:

  1. Personal information: Use the debtor's full name or part of it. You can also use contact information such as their email address, phone number, or physical address.
  2. Case numbers: If you have the unique FinView case number or the original customer case number, these can expedite your search.
  3. Invoice numbers: An alternative option is to search using the associated invoice number. However, keep in mind that because invoice numbers aren't exclusive to each case, this could return multiple results.

It's worth noting that using the FinView-generated case number tends to be the most efficient search method.

Quick search

You can quickly search for a case direct from the home page. At the top of the screen, either enter in the the name, email or FinView case number and the results will immediatly present themselves.

Detailed search - it can be the case that you need to search using invoice numbers or an address. Here you need the more advanced search options

  1. Navigate to 'cases' in the FinView menu.
  2. Use the search bar and select one of the three aforementioned options: Personal details, Case identifiers, or Invoice IDs.
  3. Input the relevant information and press enter.
  4. The results will then be displayed. A user can choose to review the results in card format or list format. Click the toggle on the right hand side of the screen.
  5. Click on the case you're looking for, and you'll be taken to a comprehensive overview of the debtor's case.
  6. If a debtor is involved in multiple cases, the one you're searching for will be marked with a magnifying glass icon or similar for easy identification.
